Dear Praying Friends,
After the death of King David, Solomon his son was chosen by God Himself to be the next King of Israel. We read about Solomon’s request for wisdom:
1 Kings 3:12-13: behold, I now do according to your word. Behold, I give you a wise and discerning mind, so that none like you has been before you and none like you shall arise after you. I give you also what you have not asked, both riches and honor, so that no other king shall compare with you, all your days.
1 Kings 4:29 tells us that no one was as wise or wiser than King Solomon. But, despite Solomon’s great wisdom, he ended up doing some very unwise and stupid things.
Solomon began by taking Pharaoh’s daughter in marriage despite God commanding His people not to choose spouses from pagan nations. Solomon continued to take more and more wives,
multiplying wives unto himself, multiplying horses, and riches to himself despite God’s specific prohibition against those very things: Deuteronomy 17:16-17.
Solomon ended up with 700 wives and 300 concubines, which turned his heart from the God of Israel to the worship and pagan practices of his wives’ false gods.
Mormonism claims that God was pleased with Solomon’s polygamy, but the Bible tells a totally different story. And just as Solomon’s heart was turned from the one and only true God, the hearts of those in Mormonism have turned astray to believe in false gods even seeking to become god’s themselves.
Our purpose is to proclaim God’s truth to the polygamists showing from the Bible that multiple wives is not God’s will.
We thank you for your support and prayers that enable us to continue to bring Biblical truths to polygamists.
MORMON POLYGAMY HISTORY
~ It all began with Joseph Smith ~
“Can a woman have more than one husband at the same time? No: Such a principle was never sanctioned by scripture. The object of marriage is to multiply the species, according to the command of God. A woman with one husband can fulfil this command, with greater facilities, than if she had a plurality; indeed, this would, in all probability, frustrate the great design of marriage, and prevent her from raising up a family. As a plurality of husbands, would not facilitate the increase of posterity, such a principle never was tolerated in scripture. But a plurality of wives would be the means of greatly increasing a family, and of thus fulfilling the command, not only to a far greater extent on the part of the husband, but also on the part of the females who otherwise might have been under the necessity of remaining single forever.”
Orson Pratt, Mormon Apostle and Seer; The Seer, Celestial Marriage pg 60, April 1853
“And, as the husband stands as the master of the house, if a woman had two husbands or masters, she would be sure, according to the words of Christ, "to hate the one and love the other," for no one can love and serve two masters; but two can love one master; yes, a hundred wives can love one master or husband, for he is their head, even as Christ is the great Master and Head of the Church.”
Orson Pratt, Mormon Apostle and Seer; The Seer, Celestial Marriage pg 154, October 1853
“We cannot feel justified in closing this article on the subject of marriage without saying a few words to unmarried females in this church. You will clearly perceive from the revelation which God has given that you can never obtain a fulness of glory without being married to a righteous man for time and for all eternity. If you marry a man who receives not the gospel, you lay a foundation for sorrow in this world, besides losing the privilege of enjoying the society of a husband in eternity. You forfeit your right to an endless increase of immortal lives. And even the children which you may be favored with in this life will not be entrusted to your charge in eternity; but you will be left in that world without a husband, without a family, without a kingdom…
Orson Pratt, Mormon Apostle and Seer; The Seer, Celestial Marriage pg 140, September 1853

“Thank you for what you do, just trying to let everyone know the truth. This church [LDS] has ruined my relationship with my two oldest children, who converted many years ago, they said they would cut me out of their life if I ever brought anything up again about their beliefs. They’re in so deep and I miss how close we use to be, and for what? This church [LDS] has hidden and lied about so many things. Thanks again!" --DOL
“I am so glad you are telling the truth. Joseph Smith was a mentally ill man who had that charismatic quality. I am sad to say that my Dads ancestors followed Joseph Smith from Sweden. Keep up the good work!" --SA
“Where does the Bible teach that the sin against the Holy Spirit is rejecting the doctrine of “god the son”? Where does it even teach that Jesus is God the Son?" --MH
ANSWER: According to the Scriptures God promised He would be Israel’s Savior, Redeemer, Deliverer. This Savior would be called the Son of God who is God the Son. Not by sexual encounter, as the Mormons believe, but by nature and character.
Scriptures explaining Jesus is God: Isaiah 9:6, John 1:1-3, 14. 1 John 5:20.
John 14:9 Jesus said: .”..whoever has seen me has seen the Father.”

“[Mormon] Church leaders did not hesitate to deceive when they engaged in Post-Manifesto marriages well after 1904. While members resided in Mexico, their leaders promised them eternal rewards for taking other wives and refusing to be intimidated by government threats. When they moved to the United States, they were treated with humiliation and disgust by fellow members who were embarrassed to be associated with those breaking the law. One member took his wives into New Mexico from Texas and was accused of white slavery. Another member attended a church meeting in the states with his plural wives and quickly became the object of scorn. The leaders' double tongued approach to plural marriage led to confusion and disillusionment among its members. Practicing polygamous fundamentalists learned from LDS leaders that deception is no sin if you're protecting polygamy.” B. Carmon Hardy, Solemn Covenant, pp. 296-297.
“[Mormon] Church leaders deceived its members when they redefined the term "celestial Marriage." Until the 1880's it had referred exclusively to plural marriage. To mislead government
authorities, leaders claimed that "celestial marriage" meant only a marriage that survived death; though they never subscribed to this meaning themselves. During the Smoot hearings leaders used this deceptive maneuver to mislead investigators.
This deception proved helpful in Idaho where the constitution prohibited those practicing or teaching "celestial marriage" from voting. Yet, as late as 1904, leaders privately used the term "celestial marriage" to refer to polygamy. In order to distance itself from polygamy, the church finally adopted the new meaning of "celestial marriage." Modern active members do not understand that "celestial marriage" originally referred to polygamy alone. Current church leaders perpetuate the deception.” B. Carmon Hardy, Solemn Covenant, pp. 297-298
Matthew 19:4 He answered, “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female.
THEY SAID THAT?
Brother Pratt also thought that Adam was made of the dust of the earth: could not believe that Adam was our God or the father of Jesus Christ. President Young said that he was; that he came from another world and made this; brought Eve with him, partook of the fruits of the earth, begat children, and they were earthly and had mortal bodies and if we were faithful we should become Gods as he was. ~ Brigham Young Addresses, Vol. 2

Opportunities to Share
We are grateful for every opportunity God provides to share with others about our ministry including the doctrine and difficulties of Mormon polygamy.

On March 25th Mormonism Research Ministry, ww.mrm.org, asked us to be a guest on their radio program, AM 820 in Salt Lake City. We taped ten, 15-minute episodes discussing Mormon polygamy, its history and contemporary details and events. Saturday March 27th I was invited to share with a PowerPoint visual, some of the difficulties, fears and pain people who leave polygamy often experience.
A particularly interesting fact is that Mormon polygamists use the bible as their justification to practice polygamy, yet they refuse to use the bible to regulate polygamy. Most Mormon polygamy groups ignore the sexual prohibitions found in Leviticus Chapter 18.
Praises and Prayer Requests:
- We have been praying for and seeking a Christian Biblical counselor for a very long time. God has answered our prayers. Karen Sette, a lovely lady with a degree in Biblical counseling has volunteered to help in our ministry. We are grateful for her willingness to serve and help damaged people who leave polygamy.
- Pray for “MA”. She has left the polygamy culture, and studied Christianity, but has too many questions and doubts to trust Jesus.
