Dear Praying Friends,

If Mormonism is true the Kingdom of God belongs to them and Mormonism will rule both Heaven and Earth during the millennium and in eternity. This belief is held by both the LDS church and each polygamy group. They use Daniel 2:44 as their proof text:

Daniel 2:44-45  And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed, nor shall the    kingdom be left to another people. It shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever, just as you saw that a stone was cut from a mountain by no human hand (ESV)

Mormonism sees Joseph Smith as the “stone cut from a mountain by no human hand”, that he was the one who “restored God’s kingdom on earth” after centuries of universal apostasy. It was Smith who restored Old Testament polygamy   according to the Fundamentalists. The Kingdom belongs to Mormonism, it will never be destroyed, despite continuous attempts to destroy it, eventually it will fill the earth, and the whole world will be Mormon. Little do they realize that Jesus is that “Stone” and that Revelation 19:10 tells us, “For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

The spirit of prophecy is not Joseph Smith, not Mormonism, not polygamy. Polygamists see themselves and their plural marriages as being His ultimate plan for Heaven, and all eternity. But, it is Jesus Christ who is the center of God’s eternal plan!

Pray that we will boldly yet gently and accurately communicate that Jesus is ALL, HE IS EVERYTHING. He is the Savior, not Mormonism, and not polygamy.

We thank you for your support and prayers that enable us to bring Biblical truths to polygamists.

BOOK REVIEW: FATAL FLAWS of the LDS CHURCH

Since 2008 we have been involved with video and audio media discussing Mormon polygamy and polygamists. Earl Erskine, former member of the LDS Church and former bishop in that church, discovered Biblical Christianity, and has been co-host in our programs for well over a decade. Together we seek to present both the LDS and the Fundamentalists view and practices of Mormonism. Earl has recently completed a book telling about his discovery and journey from Mormonism to Biblical truth. The book was published a couple of months ago; it is highly recommended for those who are interested in this topic. It is an easy yet compelling read. It is a great testimony to the grace and mercy or our Lord as He brings people from Mormonism’s spiritual darkness and errors into the beauty and truth found only in the Jesus of the Bible.

Earl’s book is entitled Fatal Flaws of the LDS church: A Cracked Foundation, A Surprising Discovery, and a Former Bishop’s Pursuit of Truth. Scott Johnson assisted with his unique and unequaled ability of creativity. Because our focus is the polygamy aspect of Mormonism, will share some excerpts from his chapter on that topic. Chapter 7, Plural Marriage: A New and Disturbing Covenant:

LDS Doctrine:
“Latter-day Saints believe Joseph Smith, by God’s command, restored the practice of polygamy, a necessary work for exaltation.”

Fatal Flaw:
“Nowhere in the Old Testament does God command the practice of polygamy, and it is condemned in the New Testament. The Bible consistently portrays polygamy as a destructive practice, leading to all manner of suffering and godlessness. Therefore, the “restored” doctrines of polygamy appear rather to spring from the lustful imagination of Joseph Smith, and not from God’s intention for marriage.”  (Page 125.)

Erskine writes that as a faithful Mormon he was rather naïve about Mormon polygamy. He knew Brigham Young was a polygamist with several wives, but he writes that at that time in the LDS church, members were led to believe that Joseph Smith was not a polygamist. He wrote:

I certainly had never heard that Joseph Smith had several wives who still had living husbands. I had been taught that the only multiple wives Joseph Smith had were those who were sealed to him after his death… I also believed that Heavenly Father had many wives; however, we didn’t know their names or talk about them, presumably as a matter of respect. I also knew that there were examples of polygamy in the Bible.” (pgs 126-127)

The LDS church is known for its secrecy and withholding certain information, especially historical information from its members. They have not revealed the total truth of polygamy to this day. They continue to claim it is a high and holy principle, one that will be honored throughout eternity.

    He writes on page 117:

I am now convinced that the LDS leadership, over the years, have avoided discussing controversial issues. By and large they kept these issues out of view from the mainstream membership. That all changed with the Internet. Suddenly, obscure LDS records and other critical sources were available to practically anyone with a computer, and as the information began to disseminate more widely, it began affecting members.”

Earl’s book is a great story of his and his wife Karla’s journey from the LDS religion to saving faith in Jesus Christ.  It is a good reference resource as well.

MORMON POLYGAMY HISTORY

The following is copied from:  WIFE No. 19, The Story of a Life in Bondage, Being A Complete Expose' of Mormonism, And Revealing the Sorrows, Sacrifices and Sufferings of Women in Polygamy, Written by Ann Eliza Young, Brigham Young’s Apostate Wife.

DESCRIBING THE RITUAL OF NIGHTLY PRAYERS IN THE HOME OF BRIGHAM YOUNG WITH HIS MANY WIVES AND CHILDREN.

Brigham sits in the centre of the room, at a large table, on which is an ornamental "astral" lamp. The wives and their respective families are ranged around the room .... When all are seated, Brigham reads a few passages of Scripture, all kneel down, and he makes a long prayer.

He was formerly said to have a special "gift" for prayer, and he has not lost it; but somehow his prayers never inspired me with veneration. He prays with great unction, and, I suppose, unconsciously to himself, some of his patronizing manner slips into his appeals to the throne of Divine Grace, until his petitions always seemed to me to be very much like advice to the Deity rather than entreaties for the Divine blessing. If he chances to be in a good humor, he chats a little while before leaving the room; but if not, he goes away directly prayers are over, and that is the last that is seen of him by the household until the next day at dinner.
Some of his children are almost strangers to him. They know nothing of fatherly affection, and while they feel that they have, socially, a sort of prestige, by being so closely related to him, they feel, personally, only a dread and fear of him. He never invites their confidences, nor shows himself interested in their affairs; all this would be quite incompatible with his ideas of prophetic dignity.

The Lion House, where most of the wives live, is a long, three-storied house, at the very left of what is known as the Prophet's Block. It receives its name from the stone figure of a lion crouching over the front portico.”   Pgs 529-530

NO POLYGAMY, NO HEAVEN:
"The man who refuses to enter polygamy will be eternally damned," announced Brigham Young from the Tabernacle. "Who marries out of the church marries for hell," supplemented Heber C. Kimball.

Polygamy was preached from the platform, and taught by the ward-teachers in private. It was not only advised — it was commanded, and no one dared disobeying the prophetic
mandates. Pg 291

POLYGAMY IN THE NEWS...

Seth Jeffs, brother of Warren Jeffs, bought 40 acres of forest property near Grand Rapids Minnesota in 2018.  Nearby residents feared he was establishing a new FLDS compound. The land is now for sale for $189,00.  In 2019, the county ordered the new owners to stop working on the site because of land-use and septic permit violations. The issues were resolved, but Seth Jeffs did not reapply after the permits had expired. Nothing was ever built on the property.

POLYGAMY IN UTAH:

These signs were made and
displayed at the Utah State Capitol
during a public protest against a bill the Utah Legislature was debating to decriminalize polygamy.

Her statements are true, incest is
rampant in some polygamy groups. However, the protests were in vain. In February 2020, the Utah state Senate unanimously passed a bill to decriminalize polygamy among consenting adults.

FROM OUR MAILBOX:

“I appreciate the time you take to learn about the LDS religion but you are not well informed. The temple rituals are written on the temple ruins in Egypt and can be studied and researched if you actually want to learn. The temple doctrine and sealing has been around since Adam and Eve, you will never convince anyone about the temples when they have always existed. You may want to focus more on the atrocities and child rape, forced abortions of the nuns, and murders the Catholic Church has engaged in for the past four thousand years. I might suggest you two actually visit a LDS temple visiting center and decide then if you think your small youtube channel is really worth it. E’”

RESPONSE:  There are no Mormon temple rituals written on Egypt temple ruins. Joseph Smith plagiarized them from Masonic secret rituals. Mormon Temple doctrine and sealing cannot be found in the Bible and has not been practiced from the time of Adam and Eve. This is a typical response from someone who has swallowed the Mormon Kool-aid.

“Imagine a family of terrified Mormons on board a stricken vessel somewhere on a raging ocean: earnestly calling out in prayer to Jesus, I wonder which [Jesus] it might be?  The [Mormon Jesus who is] the brother of Satan, or Jesus of the Holy Bible?  Potentially intriguing, while at the same time its prospect is unsavory! As always, a pleasure and a honor to listen to your message.  Thank you.  A”

Prayer Requests:

  • PLEASE PRAY for “A.S.” She is a plural wife whose husband has neglected and ignored her and her sister wives are meddlers. She wants him to love her again. Pray God will show her His love and she’ll choose Him over polygamy.

  • PRAY FOR  two young girls wanting to get out of a polygamy group.

  • PRAY FOR another young pregnant girl who was deceived into a polygamous marriage. She’s very unhappy, wants to get out but fear keeps her from leaving.

  • PRAY FOR our wisdom and skill as we minister in these situations. The deep pain they suffer is beyond description. Deprogramming is a huge challenge.

We are available to speak to your group, association, church or organization about the Mormon Fundamentalists of today.
