Dear Praying Friends,

Mormonism is a religion requiring obedience to a library of religious laws, ordinances, rituals and modern-day mediators between God and man. They often quote Matthew 5:48 where Jesus said:

“You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”

They must ‘earn’ eternal life by obeying religious laws trying to become worthy of God’s favor. For them, perfection comes by trial and error. But those in Mormonism do not KNOW the Scriptures or the power or the grace of God.  Nor do they understand that Hebrews 10:1 is the answer to their performance-based religion:

“For since the law was but a shadow of the good things to
come instead of the true form of these realities, it can never,
by the same sacrifices that are continually offered every year,
make perfect those who draw near.” ESV

It is Jesus Christ who makes us perfect, we can never become perfect by obeying religious laws.  Paul the Apostle said, “Christ died for sinners of whom I am the worst.”  He didn’t say he had been the worst and that he had become perfect through his own efforts. Jesus imputes His righteousness to all who will trust Him. Mormonism knows nothing of biblical grace.

We thank you for your prayers and support that make it possible for us to bring Biblical truths to polygamists.

DID THEY REALLY SAY THAT?

“This understanding is necessary to comprehend the answer to your question regarding plural marriage. When the Lord revealed celestial marriage to Joseph Smith, which is marriage for all eternity, he also explained to the Prophet why Abraham, Jacob, and other ancient prophets had plural wives, and the Lord did not condemn these prophets because they did have plural wives, but to the contrary, he greatly blessed and prospered them. Abraham had two or three wives, and he is spoken of in the Bible as the ‘Friend of God’” (Joseph Fielding Smith, Answers to Gospel Questions 3:159-160).

“The new and everlasting covenant of celestial marriage is the gate to exaltation in the celestial kingdom” (Marion G. Romney, “The Oath and Covenant Which Belongeth to the Priesthood,” Ensign (Conference Edition), November 1980, p. 43).

BUT THE BIBLE SAYS….

Romans 7:1-2  Or do you not know, brothers—for I am speaking to those who know the law—that the law is binding on a person only as long as he lives? For a married woman is bound by law to her husband while he lives, but if her husband dies she is released from the law of marriage.

Matthew 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.  ESV

MORMON POLYGAMY HISTORY

~~It all began with Joseph Smith~~

Text from the introduction of, The Mormon Monster published in 1900.

The title of the present volume has been rightly called: "The Mormon Monster." The religious system of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young is not only a stupendous humbug ... but it is a moral and spiritual enormity — a vicious departure from the true type of the Christian religion — an abnormal development and horrible deformity — which, though disguised in the very terms and titles of the gospel, ought to be abhorrent to the most wicked.

It is ostentatiously paraded as the "Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints," established under a fraudulent revelation; and in the habiliments of pompous titles and pretentious sanctity it incarnates every unclean beast of lust, guile, falsehood, murder, despotism and spiritual wickedness in high places. It is polytheistic in theology, polygamistic in life ... and its chief cornerstone is polygamy.

It reveals God as the very impersonation of anthropomorphic licentiousness. Its Christ is the redeemer of those only who are sealed in polygamous matrimony — himself being a polygamist; and its Paradise is only a celestial harem for God and for men and women ransomed from the doom of anti-polygamous infidelity — essentially nothing more.

To be sure Mormonism preaches in the terms of gospel faith, repentance, baptism, obedience, and righteousness —under the claims of regeneration, justification and holiness— in the names of Father, Son and Holy Spirit, just as we do; but these terms, claims and names mean nothing in the light of Biblical interpretation. The Bible is wholly neutralized and misapplied by supplementary revelations and teachings. Before the deceived masses the Mormon appears fairly evangelical. They know nothing of his theological definitions, nor of his underlying dogma of polygamy, and it is only from the original sources of this hideous system that the secrets of Mormonism can be learned and its designs exposed— as fully exhibited in the present volume...

It spells and pronounces some words correctly and often uses the same words that we do; but the theological and spiritual meaning of its terms is the language of Ashdod and not of Canaan. At its very best it is an external and superficial ritualism based upon a discursive belief and a dead repentance which depend for salvation upon baptismal remission; and internally it is theologically rotten and spiritually sterile under a false conception of God and of human depravity, the chief phase of which depravity in others, according to the Mormon creed, is anti-polygamous infidelity. Corresponding with its theological and spiritual turpitude its organism is a politico—ecclesiasticism headed by an anti-Christian priesthood, bound by a blood atonement and a Danite covenant which are in league with hell against all personal liberty and civil government outside of itself and grounded in the polygamous degradation of the human race.”

MINISTRY NEWS...

We were invited by Ratio Christi to share with them at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colorado.  We are thankful for the privilege of sharing and for their Christian welcome and hospitality, we pray God accomplishes His purpose for this and every opportunity He gives us to share Him with others.

We were invited to share on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings about the history of Mormon polygamy, how it came about, how, why and where it flourished, how and why it faded away in the LDS church, and how and why it continues to thrive in America.  Then of course, we shared our own personal experiences growing up in a polygamy group, our rejection of it and how we came to saving faith in Jesus Christ.

There was a young girl in the group who, a couple of years ago at fourteen years old had escaped from the FLDS polygamists and had found safety and shelter in a loving and nurturing family in Grand Junction.

Like so many others who are disentangled from cultic religions, she has rejected God, refusing to put her faith and trust in the evil and abusive ‘god’ she was raised to worship and obey.  But she attended our presentation on both nights; we were excited to be able to share God’s Grace with her at length.

She is a very sweet young lady—but needs deep emotional and spiritual healing.  If God lays her upon your heart, would you please pray for her?  For safety reasons, we do not use real names but have given her the alias, “Anne.”  She heard our testimonies of God’s love, patience, grace and faithfulness, please ask God to open her heart to believe and be saved.

FROM OUR MAILBOX:

“What a travesty polygamy is. Thank you for your wonderful podcast, it’s so important to keep telling the world that Mormonism is not a benign organization, and it’s certainly NOT Christianity! I was baptized Mormon as a child; fled the religion after my gruesome temple “endowment” experience—after being spitting mad at God for many years, finally found Him in the Bible! Baptized with my husband into a Christian community last year—largely thanks to you and your show—and we love our relationship with our true God. L.S.”

“This last year my interest in the LDS and FLDS churches rekindled. I watch several YouTube channels and have learned a lot and have grown a great compassion for those within those organizations and those who have left. I keep returning to your YouTube for your powerful words of faith that I find uplifting and wise. Thank you for educating and informing both mind and spirit. C.C.”

“If someone WANTS to live polygamy they should be able to...If they aren't wanting to practice polygamy then they should be allowed education and a way out if so….But I see no wrong in polygamy IF ALL PARTIES ARE truly wanting that. But sadly most do not. B.”

NOTE: This person may not see polygamy as being wrong, but it’s how God sees it that matters!  There are people who WANT to rob banks, rape children, lie, deceive and murder. Wanting to do those things, doesn’t make it okay. Neither does ‘wanting’ to live polygamy make it okay.

Example of Terminology used by the Mormon Church and Mormon Polygamists:

Celestial Marriage:

LDS:  Celestial Marriage is the making of holy private covenants in an LDS temple ceremony which seals the couple to each other for eternity.  In the resurrection, the wife cannot come forth unless her husband calls her by name from the grave. In Mormon heaven they will be married and give birth to ‘spirit’ children forever and ever.

Polygamists:  Celestial Marriage is polygamy—or plural marriage in which the man becomes the husband of multiple wives, each wife is sealed to him in a special private ritual. In the resurrection he will call each of his wives by name from the grave, and they will exist together as a plural family for eternity.  They will produce eternal increase (having babies) for eternity, the husband will become a god and his wives goddesses ruling and reigning over their own planet or planets.

JOSEPH SMITH IS EQUAL TO GOD IN MORMONISM:

"One cannot criticize or attack Joseph Smith without attacking God the Father and His son, Jesus Christ - whose prophet he is and has been from the very foundation of the world and always will be forever and ever."

- Kevin W. Pearson, (General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints), Prospective Missionary Devotional, March 22, 2023, BYU Religious Education.

Praises & Prayer Requests:

  • Praise God for every chance we have to share His word of Grace to Mormon polygamists.

  • Praise God for answered prayer that He is causing the deep dark secrets of Mormon polygamists to be exposed. The exposure seems slow but it is happening. Pray for the many in polygamy who see these secrets exposed, that they will turn to the Biblical Jesus and submit to His grace.
