Dear Praying Friends,

Mormonism teaches that we humans are placed on the earth from a pre-existing, pre-mortal condition and our purpose here is merely probationary. That of course is not a Biblical concept. We challenge those in Mormonism to find in the bible where it says this a probationary state.

Life is filled with trials and temptations, but God is not a probation officer - neither are his angels, and certainly Jesus isn’t a probation officer. We’re here to learn about the beauty, the glory and goodness of God and to enjoy Him here and forever. God offers us an eternity basking under His glorious and heavenly love. We can accept God’s gift of eternal bliss or reject it. But if we accept it, we cannot pay for it, earn it, barter for it, or live polygamy to get it. It’s a gift - and receiving that gift with thanksgiving is the only way we can have it.

We can’t earn it by keeping all the commandments that the LDS and the polygamy groups threaten their members with. The way to Heaven is Jesus, not law. We challenge those in Mormonism to investigate what they believe and why they believe it.

Polygamists reject the Bible as being the Word of God and accept the words of men instead. Then they proceed to use Bible names, Bible events, Bible commandments, and Biblical people as examples to exalt and verify their own religious beliefs. However, we present the Bible alone as God’s Word and Jesus as the Savior and it is by Him alone that we can be saved.

We thank you for your prayers and support that make it possible for us to bring Biblical truths to polygamists

DID THEY REALLY SAY THAT?

“…for I contend that the Latter-day Saints are the only good and true Christians that I know anything about in the world. There are a good many people who profess to be Christians, but they are not founded on the foundation that Jesus Christ himself has laid”. Joseph F. Smith, November 2, 1891.

“However, true Christianity, so far as the latter days are concerned, is very young, less than one hundred years of age, for it has only been since the year 1830 that the Church of Jesus Christ has been organized in the earth, and the gospel restored…”
10th President Joseph Fielding Smith

NOTE:  Mormonism charges that the true gospel disappeared when Jesus’ apostles died and wasn’t restored until Joseph Smith came on the scene. There was no true Christianity until then.

BUT THE BIBLE SAYS…

Matthew 16:18 ...on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Ephesians 3:21 … to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Mark 13:31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

MORMON POLYGAMY HISTORY

~~It all began with Joseph Smith~~

The “TRUTH” magazine was published by a Mormon polygamy group.  We quote from Volume Three:

“I am one of my father's twenty-six polygamously sired children, men and women of standing in the community; I am the father of nineteen children whose mothers, in all the qualities of grace, modesty, virtue, beauty and intelligence, are the peer of womankind, and for fifty years I have been an exponent of the Celestial marriage system of the Mormon Church, plural marriage being an essential part thereof.

Polygamy, under strict control, is biblical in background and was revealed by God for this dispensation; it is sound sociologically. The system admits of no improper commerce between the sexes, it knows but one standard of virtue for both male and female; it outlaws "birth-control" except through SELF-CONTROL, and is a stranger to the "social diseases" now undermining society.

Mormon marriages contemplate eternal unions, the husband and wives, with their children, forming a grand patriarchal unit that continues after mortal death. The system tends to subdue jealousy and selfishness; it awakens the soul to loftier ideals; it unites time with eternity in a union that at once elevates and sanctifies. The fruits of Mormon polygamy, as manifested in the lives of its sons and daughters, are the indisputable proof of the power in the system to effect a social regeneration in the earth.  Among true Mormons, polygamy, as a vital tenet of faith, can never be surrendered.  Time will vindicate the doctrine, if our politicians and sociologists will let the truth sink in--and in spite of them, if they will not.

“They (the polygamists) are honest, hard-working, thrifty people. They have made the desert places "rejoice, and blossom as the rose."  The men are sturdy, keen-eyed, hospitable, courageous, jovial, sympathetic, zestful, and usually long-lived.

The women are strong, devoutly religious, shy with strangers. They are good cooks, splendid housekeepers, FINE MOTHERS.  And the children--you can travel all over the world and find no prettier or healthier children, no boys and girls so generally polite and well behaved.”
J. W. Musser, Editor TRUTH

OUR COMMENTS:  This entire article is nothing less than gold rings in a pig’s snout!
The history of Mormon polygamy is filled with scandal, abuse, patriarchy, favoritism, coercion, deceit, lying for the Lord, perjury in courts, lying to the people of the
United States of America, incest, child molestation, child and family abandonment.  The fruits of the Mormon polygamy tree is rotten and corrupted.  And the Mormon polygamists DO NOT nor have ever owned a corner on the market for having strong family attributes!

FROM OUR MAILBOX:

L.L. Wrote: “When one finds out that polygamous husbands provide very little for their wives and children, we understand that their primary goals appear to be control their families, produce a large number of children, and to gain an ever-larger number of wives. They expect their wives and the government to provide for their enormous number of children.”

S.H. Wrote (after watching our program about sexual abuse in Mormonism): “Thank you so much for this episode. I was a victim of rape by a priest in the LDS church. I am still recovering from the trauma. Members have their own wrong view about it. The trauma is so immense that I quit going to church. I was a supermormon. Now I am searching for the truth. I was so afraid to go to outer darkness because I was told that it is the place you go to when you stop with believing and behaving like an endowed member. Now I am living close to the good Lord without listening to church leaders. Thanks again for your show.”

K.K. Wrote: “Thank God for you [your ministry]. You are calling out the criminals and the liars and you are pointing to the truth. Your ministry is saving lives. “

Rebecca Kimbel Wrote: “Thank you for this honest tape. Thank God for you and those who assist you. May God strengthen the truth and I pray, someday SET our people free from ignorance AND Fear.”

Example of Terminology used by the Mormon Church and Mormon Polygamists:

SALVATION BY GRACE means “Universal Resurrection” granted to all humanity because of Jesus’ resurrection. The Book of Mormon 2 Nephi 25:23 contains the Mormon belief that being saved equals earning salvation:

Book of Mormon, 2 Nephi 25:23: “For we labor diligently to write, to persuade our children, and also our brethren, to
believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do.”

Salvation by Grace Biblically:  Titus 3:5 … he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit ...ESV

  • Do Christians understand polygamy in the Bible?

Polygamy is in the Bible, but never taught as a means to please God. Also, in any
situation the Old Testament forbids incest which polygamists ignore. Also, no one went
to heaven or hell because they had or didn’t have many wives.

  • Can the witnessing Christian adequately explain why biblical polygamy doesn’t mandate “required polygamy”?

Karen's Story:

Karen Bradshaw is an ex-plural wife from the Allred polygamy group. We continue with her story of being born, raised and married as a plural wife.

The courtship of betrothed polygamous couples is very strange, and relatively short.  The idea is to get married as soon as you can, the wives are to be in agreement with a new wife entering their household, and the husband’s duty is to marry the new wife and get her pregnant pronto. My courtship was certainly not filled with a lot of romance. One night we attended an annual memorial dance that the polygamy group hosts - which was my first big outing as a betrothed plural wife. The ladies dressed up in lovely gowns and everyone watched everyone else.

Gossip is one of the main pastimes in polygamy groups and I was nervous mostly because their gossip about us would soon begin. I continued to be filled with fear wondering if I had made the right decision to become part of this plural marriage. My husband-to-be had three women to pay attention to at this dance and I was last on his list. I felt anger rise up within me when he seemed to be spending a lot of time in conversation with another of his wives.

I killed some time going to the rest room, getting some snacks, talking small talk with friends. I was determined to put on a smile and not return to my seat. But then Harry found me, held out his hand and asked me to dance with him and he smiled. Immediately all was forgiven and I was determined to make it the best night possible. As we danced he told me he had saved the last dance for me which made my spirits soar! Later, we spent many hours in conversation, just me and him. We talked about the spiritual meaning and eternal mandate of polygamy. It seemed like we were bonding like a chain of love being linked together, all my doubts seemed to fade away. I went to sleep that night on a note of thankfulness for the opportunity to participate in the doctrine of Celestial Marriage of Mormonism.

I was sure now that Harry was the one that I was supposed to marry. But the next day oppressive worry and anxiousness flooded back into my thoughts and mind. I wrote in my journal how confused I was. I didn't want to have a terrible marriage that so many other plural wives had. I knew their heartache and pain and didn’t want to suffer it myself. I decided to just go forward and prayed my negative feelings would go away. I thought it was the devil harassing me. But little did I know at the time, that I wasn't the only one who was struggling, the first wife also suffered as she saw her husband give attention to another woman. Their answer is to just pray it away - little did I know that praying for God to give us peace when we are going against His revealed will, is prayer that will never be answered. But all I ever wanted to do was what I thought God had commanded. And all I knew growing up in a polygamy group is that God commanded a woman to share her husband with other women. So, I just moved forward with my decision to become the 3rd wife of a polygamous man.

Polygamy however, would never make me happy and would never be the means for my joy or eternal salvation. Sadly, it took several miserable years for me to learn that truth.
