Dear Praying Friends,

Mormon polygamists believe what LDS church members believe that the Book of Mormon is a message from God. They tell prospective converts to read it, and pray that its true, and they will receive a “burning in the bosom” proving it is true. They rely on “feelings” to determine truth rather than fact—even historical facts.  Recently I was listening to a Christian program and the speaker said, “in the end, we will not be judged by our feelings but will be judged by truth.”

We want to communicate to all of Mormonism, that feelings cannot be our barometer for truth.  Jesus said in John 14:6, “… I am the Truth.” Jesus is God the Son so if we want to know God, if we want to know truth, we must go to Jesus. Jesus is the only Lord, the only Savior, the only way to the Father.  We cannot merely sit back and let Mormonism teach the world about their Jesus. Their Jesus is not God but is Lucifer’s spirit brother and their elder brother. He was also a polygamist.

We thank you for your support and prayers that enable us to bring Biblical truths to polygamists.

DID THEY REALLY SAY THAT?

“The Book of Mormon is translated correctly because an unlearned man did it by the gift and power of God. It took him less than sixty translating days. The Bible abounds in errors and mistranslations, in spite of the fact that the most learned scholars and translators of the ages labored years on end over the manuscripts of antiquity to bring it forth” (Bruce R. McConkie, “The Bible: A Sealed Book,” a BYU speech given to LDS Seminary and Institute teachers, August 1984).

“We could be saved without the Bible, but we cannot be saved without latter-day revelation” (Bruce R. McConkie, “The Bible: A Sealed Book,” a BYU speech given to LDS Seminary and Institute teachers, August 1984).

BUT THE BIBLE SAYS:
Isaiah 40:8  The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.

Psalms 119:89-90  Forever, O Lord, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens. Your faithfulness endures to all generations;

Mark 13:31  Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

1 Peter 1:23-25  since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God;  for “All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls, but the word of the Lord remains forever.” And this word is the good news that was preached to you.   ESV
Prayer Requests:

During this month and after, please pray for the individual leaders and members of each polygamy group.

  • Pray for the FLDS—that God would shut the mouth of Warren Jeffs who continues to give “revelation” from his prison cell.
  • Pray for the Allred Polygamy Group— they are rarely caught in their devious and destructive behaviors, yet they are as guilty - or worse—than the other polygamy groups.
  • Pray for the Kingston Polygamy Group—they raise their children to understand they will marry relatives to keep their Kingston bloodline pure. They are in the news again with lawsuits and various illegal activities.  Pray God will put a legal team together, including the judges, who will not be afraid to apply JUSTICE to each charge against them.

MORMON POLYGAMY HISTORY

~~It all began with Joseph Smith~~

“Polygamy in Mormonism is understood to mean men with multiple wives. The correct term for this practice is polygyny. In its day, it was synonymous with expressions such as ‘plural marriage’, ‘spiritual wives’ and ‘celestial marriage’. In the real world, polygamy is a generic term for anyone (male or female) with more than one legal spouse. Early Mormons were classed in law as bigamists, as polygamy was completely illegal. Many were technically just adulterous relationships as many of the early Mormon ministers had no legal authority to perform marriages at all. Joseph Smith claimed he got his authority from God and that he did not need any civil authority to perform marriages.

In the attitude, pattern and supposed justification of their behavior, Mormons during the 1800s and early 1900s completely and constantly ignored the laws of the land as well as established rules of sexual behavior. After 1890 leaders also ignored their own ‘Manifesto’, a supposed revelation from God prohibiting polygamy, for a further two decades.

Mormons were deemed guilty of all the above terms, in one form or another, at one time or another, but as none of the polygamy was ever legal, all the plural marriages were
bigamous.”    ~ James Whitefield, The Mormon Delusion Vol 1, iX

“Quite by accident, I discovered that Joseph Smith, the founding prophet, not only practiced his well-known polygamy (as readily admitted by the Church, along with its theological reasoning) but that Smith also practiced polyandry, a word I had never heard of at that point. Polyandry: a woman with more than one husband.   Although I was no longer formally associated with the Mormon Church, I was nevertheless stunned by this discovery. For forty-three years as a member and a further three years outside the church, I had never heard of such a thing. Theologically, it simply did not fit. I wrote to a friend in the Quorum of Twelve Apostles who asked another mutual friend, in the First Quorum of Seventy, to telephone me to discuss the position. He confirmed polyandry is contrary to doctrine. I had a dilemma. I had evidence Joseph Smith contravened doctrine.”

“I'm LDS and have never heard anyone in my faith say that God speaks only to people of my faith. We do not believe that. Each person is a child of God and has the right to personal revelation.

Satan can appear as an angel of light...thus the Polygamy sects of today. By their fruits ye shall know them.

I have a question for you. ..why do you feel the need to disparage another faith? Isn't this gross judgement and prejudice? In my faith, we don't do podcasts, articles or have classes to trash other believers of Christ. We all have the sacred right to believe and practice whatever faith (or no faith) we choose.  There is enough vitriol in the world and not enough love.

I notice that you believe you know truth. If that is so then you would honor the commandment of love.  The greatest commandment and the last one given before He ascended to His Father. You're a questionable follower of Yeshua Hamashiac.”

From “EL” website reply to the above comment:

“- Christ condemned the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  No one is born a child of God.  It is something you  become.  John 1:12

 - Christ told the Pharisees they were of their father the devil because they refused to believe that Jesus Christ is God in the flesh.

- Jesus Christ said that he would not forgive your sins and would condemn you if you refused to believe that he was God in the flesh. John 8:19, 24

- When you 'trash' your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and say he is a created being the brother of Satan, you are a blasphemer.  You are breaking the third commandment.  You will not be allowed into the kingdom of God.

- If someone loves you they tell you the truth.  They do not lie to you. Your church teaches you the first lie of Satan- "Ye shall be as gods." You should care about your own soul.  Eternity is a long time to be wrong.”

Sample of Terminology used by the Mormon Church and By Mormon Polygamists:

CELESTIAL KINGDOM — Highest of three degrees of glory available to Mormons. It contains three further degrees of
glory, the highest of which is ‘exaltation’ where people become Gods and create worlds. Polygamists teach the highest glory in the Celestial kingdom can be attained only by polygamists.  Some groups teach a man must have at least three wives to get into the highest glory, others teach a man must have five wives to get there.

ENDOWMENT — Mormon temple ceremony during which members make covenants with God and learn rituals which they believe will enable them to enter the Mormon ‘Celestial Kingdom’. Mormon polygamists use the “endowment” ceremony to covenant their eternal polygamous relationships with God.

KAREN’S STORY (continued)

I've been struggling on how to go about writing about my polygamous marriage.  Plural marriage to us was more valid and binding than any earthly ceremony, it was better to break the lower law of a legal monogamous marriage and live the higher law of celestial-plural marriage. Brainwashing is part of our education growing up in polygamy. They would use shaming techniques like a man was no man at all unless he had three or more wives,” which made it difficult to love or respect a man who was still single. I had been “conditioned” to desire the attention of an older married man who was more Holy and righteous!  In polygamy groups we are taught that God wanted us to live this higher law of Plural Marriage, it was the only way to please God, the only way to heaven.

I attended a special event called "Quest For Queenhood". A beautiful play was presented about our prophet Joseph Smith. He appeared to five men in his resurrected body and told them to live polygamy, that a baby must be born every year under the polygamy covenant. But he warned them that if it wasn’t lived righteously, it would damn more people than it would save. This resurrected Joseph Smith walked around the room shaking the hand of each man there.  From that I believed Joseph Smith had a resurrected body — so polygamy MUST be true! Only a chosen few on earth were privileged enough to live this Most Holy Law of polygamy and it was us!

The play showed the angelic Joseph Smith and his many wives filled with joy and peace, the Lord of Host laid his hand on their heads one by one and said: "Well done good and faithful servant you have returned with honor." Then Joseph took his place next to the Father and the Son as the third member of the God Head. I was in awe. I never realized that he held such a place of honor. We were taught he was the representative of the Holy Ghost on earth, he was the testator to the Father and the Son in the flesh, that no one else on this earth had ever seen the Father and the Son at the same time. Joseph Smith had been resurrected and was now a God! I was among the privileged to have the high calling of becoming a plural wife.

A fear of God controlled my heart, not a healthy fear, but a “fright” of God. I knew I must overcome my jealous nature, become humble, stop being selfish by wanting my own husband.  I had been ashamed that I didn't care more about fulfilling my true calling on earth of becoming a queen to stand side by side my husband and his many wives in our quest of Godhood!

After the play all my doubts were gone, and I was ready to face my true destiny.  I was dedicated to give it every ounce of courage, strength and determination that I could muster. Ironically, I met my “husband to be” that night. I had been invited to sit with him and his two wives during the play, he was charming, and his wives were sweet. One wife hardly spoke but the other was more talkative. Two months later my brother introduced me to him at church, but I didn’t recognize that he was the same man I had met at the play. Two more months later I was invited to their home and from that invitation, and at my request, a courtship began because, it seemed, we all get along together so well.
