Dear Praying Friends,

The world as we used to know it has changed.  Most of us would agree that the last few years have brought radical changes to our way of life, our country’s freedoms and our patriotism, not to mention the rapid decline of morality.

Christians should understand that these things must happen as time quickly winds down. These are the “birth pangs” our Lord warned us about, birth pangs that by nature become more frequent and painful until the final pang which brings it all to a close.

As morality declines, violence and liberal sexuality increases, society becomes numbed which gives way to even greater declines without notice or protest.  An example is society’s acceptance of polygamy.

In 2003 the Gallup poll found only 7% of Americans saw polygamy as morally acceptable.  In 2017 it jumped to 17%. Why such a huge jump?

The article on their website explains their reasoning for the increase: https://news.gallup.com/opinion/polling-matters/214601/moral-acceptance-polygamy-record-high-why.aspx

However, we believe part of it is because of television and other media glamorizing polygamous relationships.  We also know that God said that evil, and evil people, will continue to get worse until Jesus returns to bring in righteousness. And we know that God’s Word will not return void, “until it accomplishes that which He sent it out to do.” Isaiah 55:11.

Our focus is to bring God’s Word to polygamists and continue to pray that He will accomplish through His word the salvation of souls.

We thank you for your support of this ministry that enables us to show polygamists the Savior is Jesus, not polygamy.

SUGGESTED READING:

To help our readers understand the brainwashing and
bondage polygamists face, we present suggested reading
material which may give you a better understanding of the dark world of Mormon polygamy.
This month our featured book is entitled  Polygamy: The Mormon Enigma, by Keith Howick.  This book is not written by a survivor of polygamy as most of our recommendations have been, but gives interesting insight into how early America attempted to deal with the fanatical and belligerent Mormons who refused to comply with the “laws of the land” with their polygamous behavior.  We quote from page 74:

“When President Lincoln was asked by T.B.H. Stenhouse what course he intended to pursue with regards to the Mormons, it was reported that he replied with one of his famous homilies:  ‘Stenhouse, when I was a boy on the farm in Illinois there was a great deal of timber on the farms which we had to clear away. Occasionally we would come to a log which had fallen down. It was too hard to split, too wet to burn, and too heavy to move, so we plowed around it. That's what I intend to do with the Mormons. You go back and tell Brigham Young that if he will let me alone I will let him alone.’

“However, Congress had no intention of leaving the Mormons alone. Anti-bigamy laws had been in existence for hundreds of years in Western Europe and eventually in the United States.  From the day Joseph Smith started marrying multiple wives, the church was living in defiance of existing state laws.”

This book chronicles the challenges by the United States court system and congress as they repeatedly dealt with the Mormons who stubbornly and without remorse, clung to their polygamy-for-salvation lifestyle. The book explains several court cases and government actions that were undertaken to stop Mormon polygamy. Unfortunately as it turns out for the ‘long-term’, they never actually dealt with it effectively.  From pages 152,153:

“Polygamy generates inexorable passions—not only in religious circles but in society in general-and those passions flood over into the political arena whenever Mormonism is involved…”

“To faithful members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, polygamy is merely one of the many commandments God has given to His Saints in what they believe is the latter days; yet as a church, they believe in honoring and sustaining the laws of the land…”

This book is informative especially for those who are interested in the historical aspect of Mormon polygamy.

MORMON POLYGAMY HISTORY

Excerpted and condensed from Exposé of
Polygamy in Utah
, by Fanny Stenhouse of Salt Lake City Utah —1872. The Story of a lady's life among the Mormons. A record of personal experience as one of the wives of a Mormon elder during a period of more than twenty years.
Fanny Stenhouse describes her reaction after she learned that Mormon polygamy was real and that it was expected for all faithful Mormons to practice it:

“It was necessary for me to do something; for I was told by my husband, and the other elders who were present at the time, that it devolved on me to teach the hateful [polygamy] doctrine to the women of Switzerland. That was to be my mission, and I, poor, deluded thing that I was, believed it to be so. I concealed my feelings as best I could, for I was obliged to nerve myself to the task, and prepare to perform my duty, trusting in God to assist me. How fearful a task this was!

“My sorrow concerning the introduction of Polygamy was not like any other grief, for it was utterly without hope. Had its teachings been for this life only, I could have borne it with more fortitude, and should have endeavored to resign myself to my fate. But we were taught that it was to be "for time and for eternity."

“When I thought that some time my life must end, and that then earthly sorrows would cease, this brought me no comfort; for the cause of my grief [polygamy] was still to exist beyond the grave. Polygamy was to be practiced in heaven as well as on the earth. The only possible hope that remained to me was that there — in another world — I might perhaps be so changed as not to know myself or any one else; or that my feelings might be so greatly altered from what they were in this world that I should not realize any pain from what we were taught were the matrimonial arrangements in heaven. Pgs 35-37, An Exposé of Polygamy in Utah.

NOTE:  If Mormons and polygamists knew their Bible, they would recognize the lie of their doctrine.  Jesus clearly stated  that there are no marriages in heaven!

FROM OUR MAILBOX:

“Polygamy is pure Mormonism. It is cruel and evil. Joe [Joseph Smith] and Brigham [Young] have a lot to answer for this bondage inflicted for so many years on these poor people.” SG

After watching our interview of a former plural wife:
“What a fortunate woman to find the truth that Mormonism is dangerous and robs you of your peace of mind. Jesus is all we need not a man made religion.”  BK

“Your story moved me to tears . If I was around at your worst moments, believe me when I say I would defend you and make someone wish their mother never met their father. Most of all I admire you for still being able to smile after all that religious terror and if I’m not mistaken the rape if these children. Thank you for sharing your story.”  RB

“How the Kingston group and FLDS get away with breaking the law just makes me angry. Also the lost boys are ignored which Mormon polygamy groups produce. If I was submitting a bill, I would make it that if a man was caught in polygyny all his wealth would go to his wives. Once the polygynous man loses all his wealth he loses his power over his wives and his wives are freed from bondage. These women in these groups are forced into it and not of their own free will.” SK

A faithful LDS father recently asked questions of the president of their church regarding polygamy:  “How can I look my daughter in the eye and tell her women are equal when she learns that men can be sealed to multiple women in the temple (upon the death of a spouse), but women aren’t granted the same opportunity (until after their own death)?
How can I explain to her that she deserves complete fidelity from her future spouse ... when Joseph Smith married multiple women, some that were already married to other men, often without Emma’s knowledge or permission?

If God did ask our church and its leaders to practice polygamy, then what kind of God am I teaching my daughter about? But if God didn’t command polygamy, what kind of faith tradition am I teaching her to follow?”

Good Questions. We would like to see some logical
answers from the throne of Mormonism.
